About Us
Kuil Nicos has a rich history. We were founded in 1946 under the name Kuil Gascentrum and were then located at the Boddenkampsingel in Enschede. In 1969 we moved to our current location at Hengelosestraat 304 in Enschede.After the gases business was sold to Hoek Loos in 1982, the technical wholesaler Nico Schmitt was acquired. From then on, the current name Kuil Nicos has been in use.
1946 - Establishment of Kuil Gas Center
Founded in 1946, Kuil was engaged in gas trading and sales of gas and welding equipment.
1969 - Moving to Hengelose Street.
In 1969, the branch moved from Boddenkampsingel to its current address at 304 Hengelostraat in Enschede.
1982 - Sale of gas business to Hoek Loos
In 1982, the Hoek Loos company took over the gas business from Kuil.
1982 - Acquisition Nico Schmitt
Also in 1982 the technical wholesaler Nico Schmitt was acquired. From then on, the current name Kuil Nicos has been in use.
1997 - Acquisition Kees Lammers
Kees Lammers took over the business from the Kuil family in 1997.
2005 - New logo
In 2005, a new logo was introduced. This one featured the familiar little diamonds.
2020 - Acquisition Karsten and Niels Lammers
In 2020, Karsten and Niels Lammers took over the company from their father. Thus, the history of Kuil Nicos continues as a family business.
2022 - New corporate identity
A new corporate identity that better suits Kuil Nicos' current and future activities.
2024 - Expansion and renovation of business premises.
Due to the growth of previous years, the 2024 premises needed to be expanded and modernized.
2025 - Spin-off of carbon dioxide operations
Due to the rapid growth of our carbon dioxide operations and the changing nature of our client base, we have decided to spin off this division into an independent company: Koolzuur Partner BV. This will allow us to better tailor our services to the specific needs of our clients and further improve the quality and service of both Kuil Nicos Koolzuur Partner.
2025 - Sale of welding technology to Boes Lastechniek
As of November 2025, we have transferred our welding operations to Boes Lastechniek. This acquisition is the result of a strategic decision by Kuil Nicos focus entirely on its core activities in compressed air and gas technology. We have found the ideal partner in Boes Lastechniek to continue these operations.
